Great, in-depth account of Mary Shelley's life. She was 18 when she wrote Frankenstein--wow. (Now, I'm here in the Dark Room for more intriguing nuggets about her.) Meanwhile, I didn't know that The Last Man was her last novel (and now that I know a bit more about her life, I'll have more context when I read it--after I read Frankenstein). I also didn't know that one of my favorite authors, Muriel Spark, wrote a bio about her. Going to look for that.

Mary was a genius. Among geniuses. An absolute treasure. Frankenstein is underrated if anything. Certainly it has never been filmed and perhaps can’t be.

Off topic, but I just finished listening to this, and I have to say I love the AoD intro/outro music--who did it? You also mentioned a "Spotify rap"' (or something) in the core episode--what's that? (Such deep questions, after a 5-hour Shelley bio, I know.)
