As far as I know there isn't a German word that describes being perplexed about evil while being convinced that God exist. Such a state of mind does however relate to Leibniz' theodicy. This is any argument that tries to reconcile God's omnibenevolence, omnipotence and omniscience with one another. The storyline of the Book of Job is a theodicy for example, as well as the plot of Goethe's Faust. As expected, theological dread isn't strange to the German psyche.
