Since Ash and Co. never return to Vermilion City, does that mean it's never discovered that they didn't die? Did the Vermilion authorities phone these kids' loved ones about their tragic deaths, and thanks to the main characters never knowing about it, the mistake was never cleared up? There are all kinds of implications to this episode that the show never explores.

For me this is one of my favorite Episodes. Maybe I saw it too much as a kid, but for me its just a fun time through out.
