EDIT: The scoundrel is apparently seeding RIGHT NOW and doesn't look like they'll be stopping for hours! Do they not know any shame?!

Horrible news everyone! Despite my best efforts, I just found out that a torrent exists that contains EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Suede's Pokemon Journey, all in 1080p!

Some unscrupulous individual must have ripped them from Youtube way back when they were still up, and put them in an easy-to-access folder along with a readme thanking everyone for supporting me! I appreciate all that this strange and mysterious individual has done in their misguided attempt to help all my fans access my old content, but I'm guessing they didn't even realise that with this torrent, ANYONE could seed it or re-torrent it and provide a secure avenue to access it!

I have a copy of the torrent file attached to this post, so you can all recognise it and know to avoid it at all costs! Even if it would be a perfect present this Christmas to all my amazing viewers, I simply cannot condone such a blantant security breach!

You can all be sure I will make a video about this soon so all of youtube can know of this travesty, but for now, I figured it'd be best to show you guys first.

Keep safe out there and happy holidays!

How awful, please may I not ask for advice in how to open a torrent file so that I may know not how to do this and not watch these wonderful episodes. It is truly a great crime, to know that these magnificent episodes in fact survived.

I have never used a torrent before and legit have no idea what to do with the file I just downloaded. Can anyone let me know what to do from here?

Anonymous

I posted like 10 videos in 360p. Never use the torrent before. I have no idea what they are. I posted it from my photos on Dailymotion. I have a lot more in my photos. I do not plan on posting any of them. I just wanted to watch them before they went away 79 of them I saved. I’ll delete the 10 videos I posted. Just so you know I am not involved with this torrent and because I have no idea what they are. I use an iPhone that may be why.

Please don’t kick me out! I just downloaded Patreon just to follow you

It's basically just a normal download with extra steps. Find a torrent program (”Torrent is great), open the torrent file with it and download. You can pause and continue as you like, and let it keep going when finished to help others download the same files (until you move or delete your copy of them). Not that I know why I'm telling you this, because we lawful fans of Suede would never, EVER, do something so dastardly as to share these awfully leaked files with each other!

Oh, the horror! You all be good and not click that link or listen to the dastardly people spreading forbidden information about how to use torrents!

Terrible news! Some person is seeding the torrent with my 400Mb/s upload speed - and it's probably not stopping for a week or so!

Anonymous

Good gracious! As a person who doesn’t understand torrents, I really hope no one goes out of their way to post a introductory guide in the comments! EDIT: I just saw a guide that I missed out earlier - I’d best study it so that I can disseminate information on how NOT to torrent files.

Question regarding helping me understand the evils of torrenting - suppose if one is testing out torrenting with a browser-based client like Beta torrent (found at https://btorrent.xyz), and the ETA is “infinite years”. Does that mean there is something wrong on a hypothetical torrenter’s end, or does that mean the torrent not being seeded?

I looked into downloading a torrent program but I'm seeing a lot of red flags and warnings of virus threats, especially from ”Torrent. Little nervous about using that, especially since I've never done so before

Lucky for us, the thief crammed everything into one zip file, so only people with 1/2 of a terabyte to spare (1/4 for the compressed file, and another 1/4 to uncompress the file) can see even ONE of those videos. Thankfully, their reach is limited.

Suede

That is lucky, though I'm guessing the fiend realised that hosting over 200 torrent files individually would be a bit easier to track down and harder to excuse as an accident. Hopefully the torrent will remain as a huge file and no conniving individuals will think to make torrents for individual episodes or seasons.

Anonymous

I for one hope this doesn't happen, as I heard of one misguided soul's attempts to download this fiend's file failed epicly (possibly more so due to said soul being an utter novice when it comes to torrents, and thus making some bad decisions when it comes to torrent software) and fear they may try again one day should this file be broken down into more manageable portions.

Yeah, tried ”Torrent yesterday, caused all sorts of problems on my computer until I uninstalled it, and wasn't working any better than the last torrent program I tried.

I realize this is a week late, but I had success (and no virus warnings) with qBittorrent, an open-source BitTorrent client. This was the most recent "What torrent client should I use?" post I could find on Reddit that had some good alternatives if you want to try something else: https://www.reddit.com/r/torrents/comments/txwv6w/best_torrenting_client/ General consensus since 3 years back on similar posts seems to be "Don't use uTorrent", unfortunately.

Mokarokas

I've never had or even heard of those problems with ”Torrent, but then again I'm (TOTALLY NOT) using a pretty old version of it. Sorry if it caused problems! Any torrent program will do what it's made to do of course (NOT THAT I KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT), so just find a reputable one.
