I had heard of this ROM, but it was this let's play that inspired me to actually play it myself, start to finish. Don't get me wrong, the original anime will always have a special place in my heart, but I enjoyed AshGray for what it was, especially for the chance to try things you wanted to see in the actual anime. Deviating from the lore is acceptable in my book, but from my playthrough, the key is to many battles is to grind, grind, grind. And, with a few battles, luck, especially when a Pokemon's abilities come into play.
