I'm starting to get a schedule back in order, and next month I should be able to get back into a weekly thing! For now though, here's something I've been working on. My wife loves looking into the obscure influences into the different Pokemon, so she compiled all she could find on Moltres. I thought some of them were pretty fascinating, so we put this video together. If it's well received, we might make more, or even take Patreon requests! Let me know if you dig it. Patron Corners will be addressed and answered in my next XS, hopefully soon.

First critique I have: while I like what you've done with the *concept* of sounds and images, the video's music completely overshadows your voice. You can barely hear what you say in some areas. Dial the music back just a degree or two in volume, and I think that your voice would come across more clearly. It's a great speech and dialogue; don't let the music hog the spotlight! Secondly, and more importantly, check the end: sounds like your sound file corrupted from about 8:03 to the very end. I replayed it a couple times to check and see whether it was me, but it stuck in the same spot. Not sure whether that's the upload, or the file itself.

Overall, though, as to the 'whether you dig it', I like the concept itself. I'd love to see more of this. Fix up the technical difficulties, and don't be afraid to add a more 'conversational' cadence to the video. You're talking about something you love. Even while I understand you're reading from a script, let that love come through in how you're talking about it and draw us, your audience, into your love for the topic.

Thanks! I used the "Attenborough" voice to differentiate me from The Dex and give it a Documentary tone, but you're right, it could be more conversational.

I tried replying to your reply, but it won't let me. :P So excuse a 'triple post', please! I see where you're going with the 'Attenborough' tone. I shamefully admit to never having watched The Dex, so I didn't have a comparison. Knowing that, I think there's a balance that can be struck somewhere. The way it sounds right now is less 'Attenborough' and more 'I'm boredly reading from a script'. You don't need to go full 'Steve Irwin', but a *little* more 'up' and with some excitement in the right areas would help out with hearing Attenborough. He does have some dra*MA*tic ac*CENT*tuation in his voice, after all, without getting over the top.

I like the idea behind it, and love all the information given. I'm more interested in how one idea (fire bird) can be used in so many ways across so many cultures. The presentation could use a little work, though. I definitely don't think you need to 'pep it up' or anything comparable to the dex, but some more varied vocal tones could help.

If you ever continue this show, I think that a more conversational tone would be helpful instead of the slow-paced faux-academic tone. The concept is pretty good though. For Moltres specifically, I would have liked to see more discussion of its role in the anime, namely the Greek parallels with its flame being used as an Olympic Torch equivalent for the Pokémon League and Moltres itself graced their presence when the flame went out.
