Hey, so where does the demo end?

The game seemed to freeze when I re-entered Lace's hut, I did the event chain related to the guestbook just before if that has any bearing. Music and animation still plays but I can't move or open up the menu

reloaded and got to the puzzle maze, managed to get myself first knocked back into a wall (was able to move in the wall but unable to leave) and then knocked out of bound when I tried to move into a cannonball
