Talk about unintended consequences! Now that interest is reignited in Ashton's lies to the LAPD following the (serial killer) murder of Ashton's girlfriend, it's possible that the family of the killer's next victim might have grounds for a wrongful death action against AK. If he had reported the murder like a normal person, and told the truth about the circumstances, the killer could have been brought to justice right away. As it was, the police had to let the guy go because Ashton's lies gave the defense the perfect opening for reasonable doubt about what actually happened. So it wasn't until the guy killed again, and then attempted a third murder (victim escaped), that LA County actually had enough to successfully prosecute the killer. Way to go, Ashton. 🤯

I did not even realize he lied. He delayed justice?! I've seen videos about that killer on some true crime shows in the past, but they always just glance over the AK part.
