Hannah

The first time was at night, I woke so terrified I couldn't move, it took me an hour to worm over to a light and turn it on. I could hear Fiona in her room downstairs, she was banging furniture about but couldn't call for help. It was like a panic attack x100. Eventually the feeling left and she came running up the stairs. She laughed and said "I looked like shit" but we both woke about the same time 2.30ish am and she thought someone was behind her bed, that was the thumping she was trying to move it but was paralysed. About a week later I woke up, got scared and ran down to her room. She was awake and said something had thrown her legs off the bed. All the lights went on that night. Other things too, I had a box of buttons some random lady had given me. We'd all be downstairs having dinner, hear a bang, go upstairs and see the buttons splattered diagonal on my bedroom rug, perfectly diagonal. There are many other small incidents like that too. We asked a friend to house sit for 2 weeks when we went to Egypt, he lasted one night. Whatever was in that house was malevolent, it really was something awful. That's when my friend Josie at work started telling me all the things she'd been through, even the crusty proof reader had stories. My boss Paul who hardly spoke to us had stories! It kind dissipated after about 3 months, I remember it was going into summer. I hope you're not trying to sleep 😀

Funhouse Mirror

Conan Doyle was very interested in unseen things. He saw Madame Blavatsky did he not, and believed in fairies? Where we live is allegedly haunted. It's a bit hard to dismiss when neighbors report the same thumps thinking it's us that we reported thinking it's them...this from the manager. Or when a pet looks in the same space you heard/saw something and they can't see where you were looking and you hadn't noticed them yet either... A book I read said those are always demons though, that humans almost never return after judgment.
