So now the story Malcom McDowell tells about meeting Gene Kelly and him being furious that Kubrick and cast used Singin in the Rain during a rape scene makes perfect sense. I get the feeling that Kubrick who def had inside knowledge of the occult and secret societies and Hollywood's true secrets, knew of the story of Gene trying to rape Debbie and so he made a rape scene using his song to out him publicly and shame him, and Gene clearly got the message and it infuriated him. Funny how learning one little thing can tie up loose ends and make other parts of history that were previously foggy, crystal clear.
