In 2018, Shubham "Shooby" Goel ran for Governor of California. One of the planks in his platform was how social media should be regulated for children in grades K-12 and billed it as Social Medusa. Two months ago he was one of the stars of the hit Netflix Show, "The Circle."  The series bills itself as a game based around social media, with the concept that "anyone can be anyone in The Circle." It has been compared to Big Brother and Catfish in format, and inspired by the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive" with the concept of ratings.

Since the show aired, Shooby, has gone from 500 followers on social media to 500,000. We discuss the show and social media and if his views have changed about Social Medusa.
