T01

Oh Steve, grammar does mean something, your sentence structure alone indicates you know the so called rules and respect them. As for a pedantic hick, why thank you!

Steve Ray

Grammar certainly matters, but this is vocabulary -- the past tense of "drag" can be "dragged" OR "drug" depending on the regional dialect, just like "soda" vs. "pop" vs. "coke."

T01

Steve, now that you used that excellent example of different regional dialects, I get it. I do still think Jen should spiff up her grammar because I believe she can go beyond what she is doing, crime reporting wise. She is a solid researcher and lays out the facts beautifully. My opinion is she needs help with her pat and present tenses, period. The rest of Jen is magic! I hope I cleared that up for you, I like how you frame your ideas.

Steve Ray

You are kind, polite, AND collegial*, T01, all rare and precious traits to find online. To your point, I'll agree that Jen does have room to polish her tense agreements, but her talks with Enty are casual conversations, not prepared remarks, and she speaks about as grammatically as most non-broadcast personalities. --- * in the sense of "able to share and defend ideas without anger.
