Hi everyone!

I have over 200 models right now, and I make around 25 new models each month so the DropBox folders are getting pretty full. I think my current organization system is okay, but I really want to improve it. The Humanoid category is getting especially messy because there are so many subcategories (birdfolk, catfolk, etc).

NEW CATEGORIES SYSTEM

  • Angelic and Fey
  • Beast
  • Animal Humanoids
  • Dragon
  • Demon and Orc
  • Human and Elf
  • Monstrosity
  • Terrain

SOLUTION!

You'd just click the category on my website and you'd be able to see all the models that fit. It would be a grid of images with titles just like how I do the painting competition entries.

If you like this new system, I would change the current DropBox folders to match. So you'd just browse the website category, then jump over to the matching Dropbox category to get your model.

If you don't like this system either, let me know your ideas! Keep in mind it is absurdly tedious to categorize each model by weapon, gender, armor type etc. so I want to keep broad categories.

NOTES

  • There will still be monthly release folders. So if you know you want a model from last month, you can just pop into the March Folder.

  • This re-organization wouldn't affect the painting contest.  I'll give a list of all the models that are allowed to prevent any confusion when models are moved around.

  • Every category folder on Dropbox would have a link to my website at the top for easy access.

Best!

Other 3D model Patreons I belong to use numbers in the filenames but I'm not sure this will work for you. Grouping them into folders based on creature-type or terrain is a step in the right direction. I did notice that you have gnome twice - one as a separate folder and one with humans and elves, and you also grouped orcs with demons. It might be a good idea to split up all races into different folders because the way you are going there will be enough files to warrant this before long.

I really like the numbering system other patreons do. Helps me know whether or not I've gotten them. Having them separated into groups is a little confusing personally and so I generally just grab the files and organize them myself when they get released but doing numbered ones would be great IMO
