Yes, correct. I don’t prime frosted acrylic panels before painting because they have a rough textured surface that helps create a pretty strong bond between the paint and the panel.

Hi Daria, if you don’t prime the acrylic panel, how do you get your basic sketch on? I’m assuming graphite won’t stick to the surface? Or am I wrong? Thanks

Frosted acrylic panels have quite a nice textured surface that helps graphite to stick to it. (If you want you can try spraying a little bit of fixative on top of your initial sketch to ensure it won’t get smudged.)
