Hello Partners, Keepers, and other supporters. Just a heads up that Patreon is changing some things next month.

I'll keep this as short as I can, but basically some supporters will see their cost go up slightly due to new laws requiring the Patreon platform to collect tax where applicable. I believe you'll receive an email from Patreon on June 1st with more details.

Whether or not your amount will go up will be based on your location, and the local laws as to what is and isn't taxable.

As I understand it, less than half of patrons will have to be charged, and the change should be small. For example, sales tax here in the US can range from 4% to 11%. To illustrate, a $3 Keeper pledge would become $3.25 in Texas where I live.

If you have specific questions about this, they might be answered by Patreon's email in June. If not, you're welcome to reach out to Patreon's customer support team at https://support.patreon.com/.

Are there plans to change the item hyperlinks to a non-paywalled service at any point? I'm already paying for access to this, not sure why we need to pay for Curse's service too.

I'd sure like to. Given that I reference non-SRD items, the only option for me to link to is going to live behind a paywall. I reached out to Roll20 over a year ago to try to get insight into their link set so that I could make things link to them. Unfortunately, they refused. I built out a lot of the code in preparation for that, so if they ever change their mind I can dust it off and move forward. Of course, here are other websites out there that host all the copyrighted content without a license. But I'm sure you can understand that I won't be linking to them. I'm very open to linking to other online providers should they arise, though. When I built the stuff for Roll20 links, I built it to be able to handle more than one, and Keepers would be able to just select their own preferred library to link to.
