Barring any unforeseen bursts of sudden inspiration accompanied by a notable fiscal irresponsibility, this is the last art update for BC79. What could still happen is that I'll make a print version, which is enough of a pain and far removed enough from the design process that it's not something I'm interested in doing at the moment.

Anyway the last piece of art was going on the page with the following three statblocks: The Nuclear Missile, Elly or Rapturia. While Elly is the most important NPC of the three, the idol is the one who would've made for a more interesting piece, so that's what I commissioned!

I almost went with the version of her that is a hooded flying gynoid throwing a rocket punch while holding an assault rifle but I think that's easy enough to imagine. Instead, the more fun option is to show her alter-ego as an idol/propagandist.

Rapturia is featured in some of the fiction blurbs in the core book. She was originally going to feature more prominently in the campaign as a long-term prisoner/hostage/lazy moocher, gradually offering the PCs intel on events as they came up in the story, plus her perspective on things as an ex-component of the Deus Machina hivemind. That, obviously, went away with the rewrite from 12 sequential Episodes to 6 standalone ones.

She almost didn't make it to the new version either, and hers was the last Episode to be written IIRC. It was between her or a similar scenario (The "Things Below the Surface" and "A Night in the Woods" prompts  in page 5 of the supplement) and ultimately I figured that cooperating with an enemy switching allegiances to the protagonist side and tragically watching her die was much more memorable narratively and offered a lot more for sharing info about the setting. Also, it's an extremely Gundam trope, and the supplement is named after 0079, so, yeah.

So that's all for now! Next month: Something new.
