The anthology is finished! It's currently sitting at 70 pages and 6 Episodes. I'm gonna take another month or two for the editing and proofreading process, and also to wait for art. By the way, the anthology has a name now: Battle Century 0079, or BC79 for short, named after the year the anthology takes place in.

If you've seen earlier posts, you know that there's new mechanics in BC79. A new subsystem for Allied Reinforcements and also some new Features. Now, the bad news about said Features is that they're for NPC use only. They're there to facilitate more Operation types, rather than to enable new PC archetypes...

...Except for one! There's one Feature in the book that is meant for PCs, and it's quite a doozy(bot). Behold, the most complex and unique Feature in the game:

True AI

Anomaly Trait + Internal Upgrade (0)

Effect: Damage taken during Intermissions goes to your Threshold and carries over to Operations. Your Core Threshold Level is replaced by your Plot Armor.

You do not need to get in the robot, because you ARE the robot. Living among humans has its fair share of complications, though, from being unable to follow others inside buildings to carefully watching your step around animals and children.

Finally, after ten thousand years of people asking how to play Transformers and Megaman in BCG, I have an answer to give that doesn't involve ignoring some or all of the Intermission rules. And all it took was to create a passive ability that is both Anomaly AND Feature. Wew.

The above Anomaly Feature comes with a full page of support material that basically acts as a FAQ for it. It explains when to use Fitness instead of Might and Speed, how Upgrades interact with Intermission Tests, and even includes a bonus Anomaly Trait that lets you use Craftsmanship instead of Medicine, to fully represent that you're not biological.

Supplements like BC79 are excellent for this kind of thing. I have been wanting to write something like that Feature since before the Remaster, but couldn't figure out how. Not even in time for the Remaster. But in between then and now, I got the experience necessary to pull it off. Similar to how the Custom Weapon Creation system also needed the time and distance that it took for the Remaster to come out.

Next update will probably be an art preview, and after that the release proper. See you then!

Gimmick Out.
