One of the coolest things about publishing your own games, is that the homebrew content you make for a specific campaign is only an editing pass or two away from becoming official content.

The Gemini System was originally going to just be a variant of the Allied Reinforcement rules, but those rules didn't do everything I needed them to do. So, you know what, it's my system. I can make up new stuff whenever I want. Why, I can even upload it and someone else might find it useful!

Which leads us to the new mechanic in question.

First, a bit of story context. The campaign these rules were made for (using the BCGR setting) begins with the PCs being asked to help field test a new system. This new system consists of a stationary machine with a G-Reactor, which a trained telepath can use to sync up with the G-Reactors of the PCs.

The effects this system has are two in the narrative: First, it gives said mecha a power boost by acting as an additional reactor, potentially doubling their output. Second, all pilots are now telepathically linked to its operator, allowing for efficient communication between main pilot and sub. Because all mechs using the system are effectively twin-reactor units, the system was called Gemini.

That's it, that's the lore. I'm attaching the two pages of the PDF with the rules instead of simply copy-pasting the contents, in case you want to use it so you can keep it open in a tab with the rest of the rules. Do keep in mind that this is a preview and the final published version might look different.

Also, it's important to note that the Powers were written with the BCGR setting in mind, and many are some kind of gravity manipulation effect. While buffs like attack rerolls or faster movement are fairly universal, giving all PCs the ability to push/pull enemies or teleport short distances is probably something you don't want in a setting with less anime science bullshit.

I have two final notes to make regarding the presentation: First, the various Power Levels are unnamed and have no flavor text. Second, all the Powers are written in second person. The first is because Reinforcements already used up all the good names IMO. The second is because I don't have a number of example PCs characters that can evenly distribute 10 Powers among them.

I might come up with some dry names plus descriptions for the Power Levels or make up new characters for the Powers later. We'll see. For now I figured I'd try something different and see how it goes.

That's all for the moment.

Gimmick Out.
