October Progress Report (Patreon)

It's done! The last few illustrations are in and I've gotten in the last clarifications into the rules (if you're curious, the specific clarification is that shared/transferred Maneuvering bonuses are canceled if the recipient moves away or is moved away; this was implied in the writeups for the shield grunt and shield rival, but not explicitly spelled out anywhere). You can expect v1.38 next week.

Now, without further ado, let me show you the final three modified pages with their new artwork.

NGL I hated how the old single-column example pages of character creation and mecha construction looked, so having them laid out like this at last is a big relief. Character designwise, an illustration is an opportunity to make the Gundam reference more clear, so I asked for Roland to have his own Haro.  

And speaking of Gundam references, here's his machine in Hi Nu-ish color scheme, doing the Last Shooting pose. This ended up being one of my favorites out of the whole book, so I'm really glad we managed to squeeze it in via Patreon.

And last but not least, here's a hefty lad. Crustamens was the only one of the four biomecha in the Player-side flavor text entries to not have an illustration or pregen build, now the family is complete. For the design, the idea is that it's a sort of turtle + hermit crab hybrid. The idea is cool, and thematically resonant for a defensive build, but leaves the mech unable to, like, actually handle tools or small objects, so now its an octocrabtoise with tentacle manipulators.

And that's all the high and mid priority illustrations covered. If I had to make a wishlist of things left to add, it would be (in order of importance):

-Chapter covers. 

-An example Exosuit to show what power armor looks like in the setting.

-The other group of Player-side flavor text mecha (Windrake, Explodrake, Skydrake, Psychodrake).

-The other eight pilots from the Player-side flavor text (Shin, Reina, Ashoka, Marie, Soran, Rock, Hal, Tiana).

While all of this would've been nice, none of it is necessary, and it wouldn't be reasonable to do all these extra commissions given current circumstances given not just how much they would cost but how long they would take.

Did you catch which two groups of four mecha pilots the two teams of Player-side flavor text characters mentioned above are referencing? I had to remove a lot of references due to having a more firm setting this time, so those eight were my way to have my fun there.
