It's March. Taxes are paid. Votes have been voted. Lustfall is updated. Ice cream has been pizza'd There's only one thing left to do and it's Hanaja's Body (heh)! No time for preamble, so let's get to the good stuff so I can get back to development!


Lustfall - Update 9

It's here! It's out! It has lots of kinky new things and a lot of great new content for everyone to enjoy. With the public release out of the way, I have put it to the side for now. It's in a weird spot where I don't actually know what new Battle Card art I'll need to commission because I haven't made the final chapter yet. I know how it's going to go, but I don't know the details of the enemies and their move sets yet. I suppose that's not a big deal, since it's tax season and that means that I don't really have extra for the month or two to commission new art anyways.

There might be an quick fix soon that addresses some bugs. It's becoming apparent that some people are unable to activate some of the bonus dungeons, so I will need to look into that and address it if there is an issue with the quest chain. (The fun of adding in extra content! :p)


Hanaja's Body 2 in One

We're getting close! In fact, depending on how the rest of tonight goes as far as getting work done on it, I might have a special announcement tomorrow in regards to its release. Most of the big tasks are complete, and a lot of the smaller ones are eventually getting marked off... that is, when those smaller tasks don't create more tasks. lol!

I always enjoy it when I am able to take a plug-in and use the awesome power of RPG Maker's object structure and general JavaScript knowledge to spruce it up. That's what I did with one of the alternate menu layouts to make things more informative and fun to look at. I did something similar with DoV2, but this time I took the approach of using the screen real-estate to really give some convenient information to the player.

The enemy AI is a bit different this time around. With DoV2 I sort of cheated the plug-ins to give the enemies a bit of a brain. This time, they get the BIG BRAIN! I used a new plug-in this time to further customize how enemies will behave in battle, down to setting up buffs and exploiting status effects of the player. The normal enemies will have a bit of random to their attack patterns, but the bosses and "special" bosses will be a lot more ruthless in their strategies.

Here we can see the battle scene. It's pretty similar to how Hanaja's Body looks. Oh yea, and you can ignore the pink boxes. Those are my special "hack" to align the battle system with Zinovia's beautiful pictures in a way that's quite seamless, if I do say so myself. Like in the previous game, battles will either be 1v1 or 2v1, so things can stay focused on the reaction system!

The last big system that I still need to implement is the achievements. While this is the case with all of my games, I have plans that I may elaborate on with future games. While I was tempted to reach out and see if I could commission the author, waynee95, to make some changes and some convenience tools to interact with the system, I just saw that they are NOT available for contact. Oh well...

As you can see from my screenshot above, some of the weapons and armor is GOLD. That means that these are unlocks that you get with achievements! I was inspired like games such as Halls of Torment to tie some fun rewards with the dopamine rush of achievement hunting. This, fortunately, is something that can already be done with the current system. Hooray!

I tried to make the different equips echo their achievement in some way. For example, by healing the enemy enough, you'll unlock the achievement that gives you the Burning Diamond. Equipping this will increase the healing that you do to enemies. Those players that are sadistic enough to use the Soul Burn reaction can literally kill their foes with kindness. >:D

Just as a hint for all of you who can read this, I've implemented two SUPER SECRET scenes and commissioned some last minute CGs as a treat. You might stumble upon them by chance, you might have to go looking for them. One thing's for sure, there won't be any indication or hints that these salacious scenes are there and they won't appear until you've unlocked them (after that, they work like the rest of the CGs).

The community can share how to get them if they discover them, but I won't say a word, so it's up to you all to decide if you want to share in the secrecy. I think this will be a fun little surprise to those who are used to the CG formula by now.


The Wrap Up

Welp that DoV2 gumroad pack didn't happen. It will eventually, I just have other priorities right now and every time I set aside time for it, something else comes up that I need to work on. That's just how it goes sometimes.

Zinovia made a suggestion to me that I also might try out: offering writing commissions with your OC and one of the characters from Hanaja's Body 2 in One. I'm not sure how many takers there will be, but at the very least it could be some interesting promotion.

Back to the RPG Maker for me!
