I just wanted to remind everyone that you shouldn't go for a long walk in brand new shoes. Oww! Gotta break them in slowly. Slowly collecting the pieces of Lustfall's Update 9 as they come in while finishing the development on the Soul Cage. I'm thinking a demo for the New Year, but with the chaos of the holidays, we will have to wait and see on that. Other than that, my heart is all about Hanaja's Body 2. Speaking of...


Hanaja's Body 2 in One

I've been focusing most of my time on getting the first level ready for Hanaja's Body 2 in One. Naturally, that means making the prologue cutscenes and the tutorials for everything. I came across a strange RPG Maker quirk with the combination of plug-ins I am using, that caused some issues with the enemy AI, but that has since been resolved... by adding another plug-in to the list.

While the plug-in gives me a lot of flexibility, it does take away some of the speed when it comes to creating enemies later on down the line. At the end of the day, what ever works is what I have to go with, so it's not that big of a deal. It's just an example of the little things that can go wrong. (For some reason, the quirk wasn't present in DoV2 even though by all accounts it should have been).

At least the mystery has been solved and I can start the development of the levels now! Yay! There's a lot of stuff I wanted to explain and get out of the way before just dropping the player in the game, so getting the flow established and out of the way early will ensure that people know about the Skill Learning and how the TF systems work with beautiful screens like this:

Welp, there will be beautiful screens near the end of development when the tweaks and adjustments to the UI have been made, but if you are familiar with Damsels of Vice 1 & 2, this game uses the same Skill system and will have a similar looking tutorial screenshots.

Don't worry about choosing between spending that Lewda and saving it for skills, since learning skills require Skill Points. Each transformation type will have their own Skill Points, and you get those points for using attacks of that transformation type. (Using Vampire attacks give Vampire skill points, etc..) The neat part is, fusion attacks will provide Skill Points for both halves of the fusion!

I'm very happy with how things are going with the game thus far! The Reaction System for combat needs a lot of testing once I have actual enemies ready to fight but it works very well with the whole "Fusion" theme of the game. I was messing around with the reactions in combat as just something to make the fights more strategic, so the fact that it's on theme is a happy little accident.

The only thing that gives me pause right now is the SFX of the moans and giggles. I've used them for several games now, and unfortunately, the SFX/Music site that I use has not uploaded any more in the years since I first started using them. Maybe people don't mind? Either way, that's a decision I can make down the line with I have a clearer idea of how I want to tackle things.

Other Thoughts

I'm thinking about changing things up on here a little bit. As the development of Lustfall has slowed down and more pressing things have taken more of my time, the way things operate here can be improved upon so I'm still thinking a bit.

One thing I would like to start is a Q&A. The idea is that subscribers can ask questions about just about anything and I will post the answers publicly at the end of the week/month. I think it would be a fun and less time-consuming way to mix things up a bit.

I also think that the Update 9 Early Access period will be longer this time. I know most people love it the way it is (according to the poll), but there is some extra art I would like to work in without holding off some sort of release soon. TBH, Lustfall needs to end. There are too many other things I am dying to work on in different game engines, but I need to finish this before moving on.

I'll have to set aside from time to really think about a re-structuring (once Lustfall IS complete, things will have to change anyways) but it's challenging to do so while still finishing Lustfall. Either way, just some food for thought. I desperately need more coffee and am dying to get back to work on Hanaja's Body 2 in One, so I'll wrap things up here for now.
