This is the first time in a few years that I haven't started the new year with a bit of a breather. That's because I am deep into Damsels 2 and there are no signs of stopping. While it's taking a little bit longer than I had hoped, I am very happy with how things are turning out! Regardless of how popular or unpopular it ends up being with everyone, I am coming out of this project super proud of what I have done!

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, there's a lot to discuss and you deserve a few teasers as well.

Lustfall

Still working on the bonus dungeon and writing the OC character cameo for Update 8. I have some temporary solutions for the Lewd End CG tracking in game but it might be a system I have to program from scratch (essentially writing my own plug-in for it). Fortunately, I have some time in the evenings (well, evenings for me which is like 3-4am lol) that are no longer held hostage by FTB Interactions, so I will be able to dedicate more time to prototyping and experimenting with things without having to sacrifice DoV2 dev time.

One I test some things out, I'll be able to put a date on Update 7Ex for everyone of the Kinkster tier and higher so that supporters will be able to see the new CGs in context. Ideally, you would be able to replay the CGs from the menu when you've unlocked them... but that is where the prototyping comes in. I'm not sure that I have something I can use that is as extensible as I need it to be, even with hacking it.

Damsels of Vice 2: Far from Damsel

So far, so good! I've completed the second area, Alcazar Museum, and have started on HIVE Security, the third area. If you're thinking that there's something familiar about a name like that, well hold on to your hypnovisors because we have a returning boss that fans of Hanaja's Body might appreciate (or not appreciate depending on how much trouble you had with her boss fight).

In the same spirit as the previous two boss fights, the start of the battle will differ depending on which state the heroines are in (bimbo or non-bimbo). Both options, however, are equally devastating as this will inflict a semi-permanent debuff, a subconscious suggestion if you will, that will either increase your peril or decrease your Resistance (MP) at the end of every turn! You will be able to get rid of the debuff, but only by being "Defeated!," so strategic use of items will make a big difference.

While I can't show off any of the special traps for the HIVE Security level (because I haven't programmed them yet), I can show off a trap that I probably spent way too much development time on to get it working properly. In the basement of the Alcar Museum, you'll discover the amazing Bimbo Gas Trap! (TM) (Patent Pending)

These vents will periodically spew a pink gas of bimbotizing mist. If you're lucky enough to be standing on or walking into the vents when this happens, both heroines will lose roughly 1/4 of their maximum resistance. This is a very effective way to transform into bimbos if that's how you prefer to play!

Oh, but how can we talk about the Alcazar Museum without introducing the new evil superheroine... a supervillain, if I may be so bold: The Seamstress! This sinister young woman from the Offlands is able to take control and morph people's clothing to her will!

In the case of pesky do-gooders, this means immobilizing and humiliating them! In the case of other, less important characters... well, you can see the drones that are accompanying her. They used to be men and women in uniform, but now they protect and serve only her!

On some other notes of development thus far, I have decided to cut the "dirty talk" feature. This was something I was prototyping to change the Action Sequence failure messages to taunts and insults. The biggest factor in cutting it was how it would muddy the information to the player about why they failed the Action Sequence.

In the first Damsels, a lot of people got frustrated by not knowing why they failed them, especially in the case of Trick attacks or more complex attacks. Since trick attacks and complex Action Sequences are a lot of fun once you understand them, I've worked hard on making the messaging as clear as possible! The "dirty talk" idea just created roadblocks to that clear messaging. That being said, if it is something that a lot of people are looking forward to, I am not opposed to implementing it in an update (especially if we hit Milestone #4 for bonus content).

That will be all for this month! I have a lot done but there is still a lot to do. If everything goes according to plan, I expect the game to come out sometime early/mid February with a Steam release following behind that, and then Lustfall Update 8 in April/May? That's just a guess on the Lustfall part but the sooner I get it out, the better!

Either way, thank you for all of the wonderful support! I hope that you are all looking forward to Damsels of Vice 2 as much as I am!!!!!

Stay safe and stay KINKY~
