Patreon Sales Tax starting July (Patreon)

Apparently Patreon will start charging Sales Tax starting in July, of course depending on your region's sales tax laws. From what I gather, this will depend on what rewards are offered on any given tier. Things like Patron-only posts, polls, etc, are exempt in most states, so I believe that my tiers should mostly avoid sales tax, seeing as I don't offer PSDs or other downloadable digital goods, and my Patreon is mostly set up just to share my art early and directly, as all my finished work is posted publicly and free for all.

The only exception is when I do introduce sketch request tiers in the future, as that may fall into the taxable category, but I'm still not certain on that.

Also keep in mind that this doesn't affect any of you in VAT regions, because that would be overkill and redundant, right? In the end I'm unsure what they will deem taxable or not, but I thought I'd throw you a heads up, since to my knowledge Patreon doesn't plan on notifying non-creators until July.
