I’m honestly kind of worried about these two. They feel like the sort of base-breaking, flame-war-starting characters that are always uncomfortable to talk about, and I don’t want that to befall the Our Life fandom. I’m…hoping everyone remains civil, but it’s still a bit nerve-inducing ^^;

I feel like a lot of folks have been respectful here at least! like still side eye-ing the parents but also can dissociate them as being characters/acknowledge them as people in their own right, just not. decent parents

I think GB has cultivated a good community, but I think it would be good for them to just delete any commenters who say anything that crosses the line into toxicity. No one here needs anything like that around. I think it’s good to have characters who just don’t make good decisions in every aspect of their life. They chose their careers over their daughter cause they had something to prove to themselves, that’s just a fact. There are some things about people that are just fundamentally opposed to doing well in the situations they end up in. I’m kinda surprised how Granny just straight up dislikes Nichole. I guess it’s easier for her to blame her dil rather than her own son despite them having the same flaws.

Nicole lineart!! I love the delicate curls she has, Tam definitely gets them for her. I love her posing, she and Frederick are definitely going to be fun interacting with in the world of OL2. They've got a lot to make up for when it comes to Tamarack and it would be nice seeing how the Baumann family drama comes to a close/mutual understanding. Any understanding is a win in my book

I do love how messy the Baumann family situation is. It feels like Frederick was pressured into having a kid by Dorothea from what has been said. Not directly, but the idea that he and Nichole felt they had to prove to Dorothea that they could raise a kid sounds like that. Dorothea's negative feelings towards Nichole probably fueled that along too, making Nichole want to get one up on the mother in law who hates her. Meanwhile Ernst seems fairly disconnected from that drama. While poor Tamarack is the one suffering the most from it all.
