Oh my god I just thought- if there's a chance Baxter keeps the gift MC has the choice to get for him (mainly the driftwood bird) in his bedroom I think my heart would explode. I love how well-rounded the writing of this whole series is - really a masterclass of writing a compelling story, honestly.
