Patreon Tier Updates Coming Next Month! (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

With Baxter's DLC and Our Life: Beginnings & Always the game winding down in development soon, I've been thinking it's a good time to change up some elements on the Patreon that I'm not entirely happy with. Now if people absolutely hate these ideas, I can still scrap them, but currently the plan is to implement this starting in April.

Firstly, I've noticed that almost no one on the $20USD "Influencer" Tier makes use of the custom emote part of the reward. I imagine part of that is it might feel awkward to message about it. I also think it can be hard to come with an emote with endless options and one shot to do it, and it's likely a lot of people on that tier simply don't want it.

However, I do think adding new emotes to the Discord is a fun thing and could be utilized in a more fun way. My idea is to remove that as an exclusive from the $20 Tier and instead have a monthly post where Patreon supporters on the $5USD "Fans" Tier and all higher tiers can vote for a new emote of the month and comment on what emotes they'd wanna see on the next poll.

There would be some guidance for what people could suggest, like with the guest art. For example, one month I could be taking recommendations specifically for a new Baxter emote, or for an emote with a character holding a birthday present and everyone could say who they thought it should be about. The emote options that ended up on the poll would be partially based on popularity and partially based on my discretion, mainly because I wouldn't want it to become a heated competition where people try to secure a win. I'd keep the final say.

Of course, usually polls are for the $10USD "Insiders" Tier and up, but currently there's not anything that happens every month on the Fans Tier, and I think it'd be nice to fix that. The guest art polls and any other miscellaneous polls would remain as perks for the "Insiders" and higher.

If you are currently on the $20USD "Influencer" Tier and did want to get an emote, please go ahead and message me or leave a comment on the Emote Request Thread! This does mean this could be the last month you can guarantee a specific emote gets added.

Secondly, I'd like to better facilitate the Influencer perk of getting to tell me what you'd want to see in the game. I'd do this by having a monthly thread go up for those on $20USD Tier after an OL2 beta release. People would be able to comment on the game overall, but would be especially encouraged to do so for the latest scenes. There'd be clearer guidelines on what kinds of suggestions are doable, and a more active/engaged space to do it.

A new channel in the Discord would also be added for suggestions. Those on the $20 level would gain access to it and could chat whenever about possible additions.

(And the reason I'm saying it's mainly for OL2 is because it's a bit too late to do much for Baxter now, haha.)

That was a fairly long explanation, so to summarize:

-The $20USD "Influencer" Tier would be losing the custom emote perk, but gaining better spaces to leave suggestions for OL2 alterations every month

-The $5USD "Fans" Tier and all tiers above that would get to participate in suggesting and voting for new Discord emotes every month
