Our Life 2: Hair Color Tracking Feature (Patreon)
Content
Shawna has implemented another new feature for the character creation system! Hooray for wonderful progress. Most of it isn't relevant for the current builds, but there is one part people are going to appreciate; the eyebrow layers were formatted to change colors the same way the rest of the hair can!
But also, now you don't just have whatever nice looking hair you picked and that's it, there's more that the game will know about your character based on the choice. In Step 1 your hair color is your natural color by birth. Opal doesn't let you dye it at that age. The eyebrows will automatically match that color.
In Steps 2-4, you can change the color of your hair and the game will be able to notice that it's not the "natural" color anymore. It will ask during the transition between Steps if the shade changed over time on its own, fading or getting darker with age, or if it's dyed. Then we'll be able to properly reference whatever happened with your hair within the story itself.
The eyebrows will be able to stay the same color as the rest of your hair or you'll even be able to keep your eyebrows the "natural" color from Step 1 while dying the hair on your head to show even more clearly that it is a dye job.
If the front and back of your hair are two different colors in Step 1 that still won't count as being dyed, your character will just naturally have two-toned hair like Kyra does in OL1, for example.
It's pretty nifty! Hopefully it'll be fun for players to try out once the game is further along.
