Month End Post: May 2022 (Patreon)

Hi everyone!
Another month is over already. It was definitely an eventful one. The Cove plushie campaign ended super successfully. I really appreciate everyone who got it 😄. And we moved right into our next big event, which is a casting call for three of the Derek DLC characters. If you shared the news or actually auditioned, thank you!
We also tried out a new post style here on the Patreon; a special Q&A. Supporters got to send in questions and I recorded myself answering them (with a transcript for those who need it). It was a lot of fun, though you can certainly tell I've never worked with that kind of format before, haha. I'm gonna try it again in June and hopefully smooth out the kinks.
And lastly, things were finalized for me to move quite a distance away from where I am now. In June I'll be leaving where I'm currently living and setting up in the new place. I imagine that'll impact my progress in the coming weeks, but that'll be a consideration for future me. For this post, let's get into what's already been done as of late!
Monthly Content Summary:
My goal for May was to have the Step 2 scenes for Derek's DLC entirely scripted, and that happened! All the Moments are done, we added some expansions to the Step 2 ending scene, and we put in some references to Derek's scenes in the other events. I might still add more of those, but since I'm not sure I'm still counting it as complete. Derek's Beta build got its usual monthly update to another Moment. People seemed to really like that one, which was wonderful to hear.
The OL2 prologue beta was updated this month as well. But what's extra nice is that the Derek scenes were all finished about a week before the end of the month. I was set on starting the Step 4 Derek content in June and so I got to use that time to write for Our Life: Now & Forever instead. I got over 10,000 words done for the project. With that much new content we know what that means; another beta update is on the horizon already!
For the specifics, between initial drafting and actual script writing for all projects, I got 53,445 words down. And programming-wise, 51,150 were added between OL1 and OL2. Even more work was done in terms of our other writers making scripts and scenes being edited.
And the Patreon was also kept busy with art, music, and screenshot previews being posted almost every day.
