Poll time! We're wondering if we should use a different method when it comes to coloring the MC, since you'll still be able to design the look of your character in a little dress-up doll system.

Would you like the colored sections of the MC's appearance to have specific options or be a shade slider?

A color shade slider. Pro: there will be a massive amount of possible colors you can use on your MC doll. Con: the MC's color-based appearance won't be mentioned in the script because there aren't set specific colors to define.

[Example from The Pirate Mermaid ]

A collection of specific options. Pro: because there are exact colors, the appearance of the MC when it comes to their coloring can be mentioned in the script. Con: there will be a finite amount of colors to choose from.

[Example from Destiny]

Poll ends on the 25th!

I really like it when games point out a choice I make or characters acknowledge something I've done. It makes that playthrough feel more special.

My problem with colour sliders is that it can be near-impossible to get the colour you want. I have higher expectations and more disappointment at colour sliders. If there's a limited palette, I don't think about it beyond "Oh, that one looks good."

As much as I love a colour slider from Sims 3, you don't actually see your sprite in-game at all. I'd much rather ramp up my imagination for specifics with the chance for characters to refer to my choices/colours/looks. Speaking of, since hair is already a choice - very small thing- could hair texture be a choice? Or maybe one coily hair option? I'm Black w/ coily afro texture hair and play a few afro-dense coils; all of the options (except dreads and curly) are for straight/wavy/sleek/"gravity non-defying" hair,so it'd be nice to see that representation if possible!

Yeah, we can add more variety to the hair options! That's still an in-progress thing and we're always happy to hear what people want to see included.
