Our Life definitely puts its weight behind Cove in terms content. His personality is up to the player so, theoretically, he should be able to grow on most people. But for those who really want something different, there's always good old Baxter. There are two versions of him, unlike Cove who has four versions.

Baxter is a year older than the MC. He shows up for the first time as a side character all the way in Step 3, so he's 19 while the MC 18. He's attending college but is currently off-track. His mummy (yes, he says 'mummy' instead of 'mommy') and daddy rented him a condo in the MC's neighborhood to spend the summer at.

As you might imagine, Baxter is from a well-off family and is used to the high life. Because of that he can unintentionally come across as tactless. He'll talk about luxuries and it will seem like bragging when he honestly thinks nothing of it. He can seem insensitive because he doesn't get that other people have a different idea of what's expensive than he does. Despite how dense and firmly in his own bubble Baxter is, he doesn't mean any offense. He wants to be pals with those he meets. He'll put in the effort to do it, too. Baxter will happily reach out to the MC and try to keep them in good spirits.

Baxter dresses sort of strangely in order to be 'rebellious'. It's without a doubt the most polite rebellion against one's parents possible.

The option to skip on Cove and romance this trust fund baby requires buying a separate DLC pack.
