This episode was incredibly difficult for me to watch - as I'm sure many of you imagined it would be! I really need a strong drink haha. The shorter, edited version will be posted as soon as it's ready on google drive. Thanks everyone!

Everyone I know has the same reaction to the episode in regards to the animals. They dont show anything really (apart from the chicken) and at the burial slightly just the sounds and knowing its happening the sadness (not the right word) and the song really reflects this whole episode to me for the people and animals across the whole region. The psychological toll and damage that the "liquidators" have as shown by Pavel who is a young urban kid from Kiev who has no idea what is going on and a good stand in for the audience who majority (generalization) like me wouldn't be able to cope and the effect over time for him and the line he cant cross that we are shown. At least i think i would not be able to do this going on past experiences with pets pasing away. Disappointed in myself for not knowing the senior soldiers name (ie the not Armenian) - i totally agree with his 2nd rule 'dont let them suffer' if you are going to do this undertaking. Episodes 3 + 4 are the tough ones across a very hard hitting and informative documentary/drama that I am gratefull I watched even if it took another 3 weeks to recover and watch the final episode last Thursday.

Once is enough for me , so I'll probably fast forward and go straight to your review.
