Holden always has problem dealing with losing someone close to him. When he lost the Cant including his girl friend, he let his rage get the better of him. Ever this latest spiral since Eros is because he lost his Miller. Holden sees Miller like an older brother. The two men treasures very similar values like compassion, fair play and equality. It's just Miller would "rather be the boot than the ass" and Holden "don't want to be the boot". All of Holden's rage when Miller kill Dresden is just him being angry that his "bro" disappointed him. Holden gave people he hate (like Dawes) his barely contained disdain. He shows his anger for "family".
