Very perceptive on many levels. You might also add to your Amos analysis that after Amos first spoke to Cortazar, he explained Cortazar to Holden by comparing Cortazar’s interest in the protomolecule to a pedophile’s interest in children.

Wow, you caught on to so many things that took me by surprise the first time. The scene where the inners are spaced including Doris was a complete shock (it wasn't in the book so I was totally unprepared!) and yet you knew it was coming right away! It was the juxtaposition of her joy at zero G and floating and saying good bye and then, whoosh, out she goes! And also catching Naomi's flinch when Prax asks her about having children. Awesome pickup. Someone mentioned that she is referring to family when she says she "never got to say good bye " in S1E4, but (again, having read the books) I thought she was referring to Holden. She had loved him for a while before he noticed her. Anyhow, could be either one.

Thank you! And oh wow, that's a great point, thank you for reminding me about that. Oh poor Amos... now I'm even more nervous to find out about his childhood trauma. Really makes Alex's question "What happened to you" stand out even more. :(

Honestly, I don't know why I suddenly felt like that was coming! Just everything we'd been hearing that episode about how much anger the belters (both on Tycho, with Dawes, and even on that refugee ship) felt toward inners, coupled with the way the workers on the ship clearly didn't want Prax to go with them... it all felt like something bad was coming! As for Naomi - Prax just seemed so sure that obviously, she must have a child, based on what she said. Her facial expression, his certainty, and then my realization that they probably wouldn't have included that little statement from him for no reason, all made me suddenly think "Oh wow, she has a kid!" After Naomi and Holden got together, when I was reflecting back on episode four of season one, I also found myself thinking Naomi had been talking about not getting to say goodbye to Holden. But now, I just don't know!
