Shout out to Shane for selecting this, it was my first time watching it and I really enjoyed it. A really strong cast with standout performances by Cromwell, Spacey, and Crowe but for me the standout was Guy Pierce (that man has a jawline you can set your watch to) Am I missing something in Basinger's performance? I found it quite flat and looking at the other nominees that year I would've given the oscar to Julianne Moore for Boogie Nights. The script by Hanson and Helgeland is fantastic and was well deserving of winning best adapted screenplay. Will definitely revisit this in the future.

Now this is what a convoluted BUT enjoyable plot looks like. Among the many things I love about LA CONFIDENTIAL is the fact that every time I rewatch it I’ve already forgotten how everything is connected. Hell of a cast too.
