apart from a few straggler episodes, avatar is a very purposeful show. it may not feel like much is happening but it's setting the stage for things. season 1 is about meeting the characters, hearing their backstories, etc. i think it was still also trying to find a balance between being a kids show and one everyone could enjoy. i say hold on with it til part way through season 2 and see how you feel. don't watch it if you really aren't into it but i feel like you should finish season 1 and give 2 a little chance just to see if any opinions change.
