Hair tutorial gif (Patreon)

Ruski asked me how i draw hairs so i made a Super Lame Tutorial.

There are 3 steps:

1. Layer1. Draw the shape. 

Just the SHAPE, but make sure it looks natural! Don't focus on the strands and single locks, try to catch the volume and movement. Pay attention to the hairline, hairline frames the face, it's important if you want to draw right face shape!

Don't spend too much time on it, half an hour should be more than enough! 

2. Layer2. Color

For Qui's hair i usually use 3 colors - basic dark brown, light greyish brown for wide strands, silver for single thin strands. Be careful to not break the volume and the shape with these lines. 

3. Layer1+2. Add details

At this stage, I merge two previous layers and draw on them. Don't be afraid to merge and draw over, nothing terrible will happen, this is just a practice. The more mistakes you make the better you draw😊 (if you listened to me and spent only 30 min on your shape you wouldn't lose much anyway!)
