Confrontation Upon the Morn

It was a short walk from their residence building to the dance hall. With everything on her mind, Olivia was too focused on planning to notice the way the late October morning had a bit of a bite to it. She probably should have worn a jacket, but there were more important matters to worry about.

Unfortunately, however, she was going to have to wait a while to be able to put her plan in motion. Jessica wasn’t likely to arrive for another twenty minutes or so. She usually showed up early, to keep Eliza and Olivia from having much time alone, but… not as early as they were that morning.

As such, Olivia pulled Eliza into the room and told her to stay put with as forceful a voice as she could manage. The taller woman blushed and nodded, more or less freezing in place. Olivia then found herself pacing about, trying to wear off her nervous energy. She didn’t much like what she was about to have to do, but it was the best plan she had to get to the bottom of things.

If Eliza was telling the truth.

Some small part of Olivia’s brain remained worried this was all a prank. The fear that Jessica had wrapped Eliza around her little finger and tricked her into a move of cruelty. Still, they had been actual friends before, hadn’t they? So, Eliza probably wouldn’t do something like that to her.

Hopefully.

And hopefully that hope she held was not the hope of a fool.

She was thinking the word ‘hope’ too much, and it was starting to not mean anything.

“Can I ask about the plan now?” Eliza asked.

“If you find out you probably won’t like it,” Olivia replied. “So... no.”

“Oh,” Eliza mumbled, pailing slightly.

That brief exchange was followed by a few more minutes of pacing by Olivia, while Eliza remained frozen in place. At a few moments, Olivia had the impression that Eliza had possibly managed to fall asleep on her feet. If that was true, it was impressive, and surely bode well for any career in film acting Eliza might try.

The awkward silence was finally ended by Jessica arriving, a few other students starting to filter in behind her. The redhead immediately noticed Olivia and Eliza waiting for her, and raised an apprehensive eyebrow.

“Just what is going on here, then?” she asked.

“Eliza has something to tell you,” Olivia replied, in the most measured and neutral tone she could manage.

“I do? I... I mean, I do,” Eliza said, before looking down at her feet and blinking slowly. She swayed slightly, before regrounding herself. “Um, can I move again?”

Olivia took a moment to process the question, having not realised Eliza wouldn’t realise the answer. “Yes?”

“Good... Good,” Eliza said, before walking over to Jessica. “I... I have something to say that I probably should have said a while ago. About... um, well, us, and... um...”

Eliza began trailing off as a look of nervous concern spread across Jessica’s face. At the slightest hint that Jessica might tear up, Eliza’s forward momentum in the conversation crashed to a halt. Just as she said it always did. A proof she really was a disaster about making a cute girl sad.

Then her eyes drifted to Olivia, a pleading look in her eyes. She clearly wanted to know what the plan was. Only for a wave of stunned betrayal to spread across her handsome features when she saw what Olivia’s response was: Olivia pulling out her own look of heartbreak in response to Eliza's stalling.

The taller woman found herself trapped between two girls ready to cry, each based on a different choice she might make, and it seemed to cause her brain to short circuit for a moment.

“Um... I... uh... well, J--Jessica, you see,” she began, eyes flitting from one actress giving her best tearful performance to the other, “I... I never meant to actually date you.”

What?” Jessica asked, managing to give off a beautiful look of shock, betrayal, and heartbreak.

If they hadn’t been on opposite sides, Olivia would have applauded her acting.

“It-wuz-just-supp’s’d-t’be a one-night-stand,” Eliza said, barely managing to get some semblance of the words out in the quick burst her resolve lasted for.

“I... be that as it may, aren’t you happy dating me? Spending time together, being there for one another? And, they... you know. Other benefits,” Jessica said, showing slight modesty in front of the growing audience of classmates.

“Oh, well, um, mostly? Especially the last bit,” Eliza replied, only to turn and see Olivia managing to layer her performance with a bonus of feeling genuine shocked betrayal. That gave Eliza the resolve to continue. “But!! But... there’s someone I would be happier with. And was planning to date once I got her to realise she liked girls... it just took longer than I expected because I didn’t realise how convinced she was that she wasn’t allowed to.”

That got an eye-twitch from Jessica. “Her? You want to dump me for Bishop over there?”

“Apparently,” Olivia said, shrugging before she realised it maybe wasn’t the best response. “I don’t know how or why.”

“I told you. You look like a supermodel,” Eliza mumbled. “And you’re a good person. Cutely shy. Super sweet. Caring.”

“But she...” Jessica said, trailing off.

A few other girls started approaching, some eyebrows raised. It was obvious most of their judgement was pointed at Jessica for the moment, and she became rather aware of their attention.

“Um, it’s not that she’s trans, but, well, she hasn’t... she still has... has a--isn’t that off putting?” Jessica said. “In the bedroom?”

Olivia found herself nodding and gesturing in agreement. She was pretty sure her lack of bottom-surgery was indeed a deal breaker for many who were attracted to women.

Wasn’t it?

“Not really?” Eliza replied, getting a look of surprise from both Olivia and Jessica. “If anything, it’s interesting? Never been with a girl with one before.”

Olivia found herself standing there stunned. Especially when Eliza turned to her with a large grin.

“So, can I ask you out now?”

“Uhh.... um... I...” was the best that Olivia could manage as her cheeks grew ever more hot. “I... guess? Yes?”

She still wasn’t entirely sure if Eliza had properly broken up with Jessica, but... well, it seemed close enough?

Either way, her rather lacking reply was apparently more than enough for Eliza. She lit up before slipping in and pulling Olivia into a dramatic and romantic plunging kiss. A kiss that ensured Olivia completely passed her ability to process anything further.

Somehow, though, she found herself being pulled out of the dance room by a cheerful Eliza. She vaguely processed they slipped past the teacher, who protested at them leaving before class, but it barely registered.

“C’mon, let’s have a little fun!” Eliza declared, pulling along.

“What about dance class?” Olivia asked, stumbling behind her.

“I’ve been waiting for this for almost two months. I’m happy to skip a single dance class,” Eliza said, grinning away. “Especially when we’d have to dance with a woman I just broke up with.”

“Oh... I suppose that is fair,” Olivia replied. A moment later, though, another thought occurred to her: “Where are we going?”

“Back to your room, obviously?” Eliza said.

Excuse me?” Olivia all but yelped.

“Unless you want to go somewhere in your dance leotard?”

“Oh... oh right,” she mumbled, blushing as she followed Eliza across the campus.

They hurried up the stairs of their pod, dodging as a number of other students headed down towards slightly later morning classes. A few glanced at the handhold she and Eliza were sharing and soon the other women wore small smirks and smiles. Some of those smirks felt very knowing and left Olivia wondering what the other women knew of her messy social life. How many people had been expecting her and Eliza to get together?

It wasn’t the time to ask, however. Instead they burst into her room, Olivia giggling slightly at everything that had happened. As well as how real all the witnesses were making it.

“Huh?” Kala said, blinking as the pair toed their shoes off.

“Oh! Hey Kala! Sorry about this morning!” Eliza said.

“Very sorry,” Olivia added.

“I suppose it’s ok, but... I didn’t plan to head out for about another hour...” Kala said.

“That’s fine, I’m just getting changed,” Olivia said, turning to the small closet she had to dig out a new outfit.

As she did, trying to weigh the options, Eliza wandered over and sat onto her bed. Olivia was about to ask where they were going when another thought occurred to her.

“Are you going to stay there while I change?” she asked, feeling flushed again.

“Uh... yes?” Eliza replied, taking a moment to realise possible implications. “We are dating... and both girls?”

“B-but... well, I’m... I’ve...” Olivia mumbled, before wondering if she was just being silly. It seemed like she did that a lot, judging by how everyone kept responding to her. “Very well. How should I dress? Semi-formal? Athletic?”

“Hmm... semi-formal, maybe?” Eliza said, with a small yawn.

With a nod, Olivia dove into the closet, trying to find the best example she had of that. She managed to find an ensemble that she thought was quite presentable. She was part way through changing when Kala began to giggle. Turning, Olivia wondered what was up, and found Kala pointing towards Eliza.

The tall woman had fallen asleep, sprawled across Olivia’s bed. After a few moments she began snoring.

Olivia couldn’t help but think she looked adorable. Handsome, yet adorable.

“She didn’t sleep much last night,” Olivia said to Kala, but leaning down to get a better view.

Only to have a sleeping Eliza grab her and pull her into a hug, mumbling nothing coherent. The intimacy of it left Olivia deeply frazzled. Kala smiled, wished her good luck, and headed off to class.

-

In the end, Olivia ended up falling asleep in Eliza’s arms. It was rather a comforting, if flustering, place to be. Also, soft. Between the well maintained muscles and not insignificant chestiness of the other woman. Olivia could only hope she wasn’t too boney a sleeping partner as she drifted off to the realm of dreams. Dreams involving Eliza, though she wouldn’t remember much of them.

They didn’t wake up until Kala returned just before their shared class. Both women were slightly frazzled, especially by the fact that Olivia had been only half dressed. Even if Eliza had been far from nnew to being found sharing beds with significantly less dressed women, it seemed that Olivia’s innocence was rubbing off on her.

“You two just going to cuddle all day, or did you have plans?” Kala asked.

“Huh, actually, cuddling sounds nice,” Eliza said. “We could do that.”

Oliva weighed the options, before shrugging. “For a while. Though we should go get dinner at some point.”

“Yeah. That’s very true,” Eliza said as she slid over to lay down and pulled Olivia down as well.

Olivia did not resist, happy to join Eliza again. She’d have to worry about drama later, when she had to go back to dance class and deal with Jessica again. For the moment, though, she could just relax and ignore it all.

However, eventually one thing could not be ignored. Both of them were hungry. Olivia pulled her clothes on, trying not to blush too much about the cheering Eliza made when Olivia stripped briefly down to only her underwear. Once she was dressed, however, Eliza was moderately more behaved as they walked across the campus and towards the Village. Eliza promised to pay at one of the nicer restaurants in the small entertainment strip. Olivia found herself on cloud nine the entire evening.
