Hey everyone!

I hope you're all doing well, and that you're enjoying the recent videos!

Here is episode 19 of the patroncast ;)

In this one, I talk about:

- 01:04: Finding the PC that will be my Steam Console, what I'm expecting from it, and if it's worth it when you already have a gaming console like a PS5

- 10:28: The ROG Ally from Asus, and why I'm not interested in it, even though it looks like a pretty unbeatable deal if you're OK with Windows

- 18:10 Some thoughts as the contract with Tuxedo expires, and I don't know yet if it will be renewed: should I chase another sponsor, or focus on Patreon?

I hope you'll enjoy listening to this one!

Have a great week,

Nick

For what it’s worth, I’d probably buy a tuxedo PC if i could. I just haven’t been in the position to buy any new hardware for the past few years. I’d like to *ahem* “reward” tuxedo for sponsoring you, but I doubt my situation changes in the near future. So they would have to wait a few years until it pays off. If i had any hardware to spare, I’d also try tuxedo os out of curiosity. They have an interesting release model. It’s bit sad to hear that after VAT, Patreon’s and PayPal’s fee and income tax, you get less than half of what people pay. (At least European patrons pay additional VAT between €0,17 to €0,27 for every €1 on top of the tier price so the difference becomes greater).

I hope you get a second sponsor (or even better, that Tuxedo renews the contract), I agree with everyone here that this is clearly the safer option. But if not, shorter videos, crowdsourcing shoutouts etc will be nice to see.

We'll see how it goes! If Tuxedo pulls out, I'm sure I'll find someone who's willing to take their place! A renegociation could also be done with Tuxedo, I guess, since the price they currently pay was a rough estimate we did, but if doesn't work for them, but would still like to work with me, I'd be willing to reduce the price as well.
