Hey Everyone!

Here are the topics I'll be working on in September, and of course, it's time to vote on the ones you want to see!

So, obviously, we'll have the traditional Linux News videos,
every Thursday, which means you'll get 5 news videos in September!

Next, I'll be reviewing the KDE Slimbook new generation! I'm a fan of the previous one, and I still own the exact same laptop in the form of the Slimbook Pro X 14, so it will be interesting to see what's changed!

I'll also slot in 2 videos I didn't have time to make in July and August, namely "Things Linux does Better than Windows", and "Things we could add to make Linux better".

I'll also review the Tuxedo Pulse 2, another take on the same chassis as the KDE Slimbook (maybe I'll merge both reviews, we'll see).

There's also the GNOME 43 review at the end of the month, with tons of goodies, performance improvements, and major Nautilus work.

And now, let's get to the things you can vote on!

- Microsoft can't help itself: a quick tour of the things Microsoft has changed in its attitude towards opensource, and the things they do that are STILL completely nefarious. Factual, unbiased reporting of what they did, of course!

- Hidden and powerful KDE tips: the KDE version of the "GNOME Hidden tips" from August: I'll dive deep in KDE's settings and options, and scripts to find some really good stuff people might not know about

- The Manjaro Problem: there's been a lot of things Manjaro did, or contributed to, that rubbed me the wrong way, and I wanted to talk about that. Not a "I hate Manjaro video", more like "here are the things they do that are kinda weird"

- Android and Chrome OS: Linux success stories, or exploitation: a look at Android and Chrome OS, how they really relate to Linux in terms of code, and mentality, and if we can count them as stuff that promotes Linux, or just profits from it

Vote for the videos you want to see, and as always, I'll pick the 2 which have the most votes!

Best,

Nick

I'm glad you aren't going to make an "I hate manjaro" video. That's getting pretty tiresome from certain other youtubers. Also too well worn are the tired talking points periodically flogged on reddit. You've always been fair and honest, Nick, so I look forward to that video (if chosen).

Yeah, although there are some good views to be made by just bashing stuff, that's not the goal of the channel! I prefer trying to paint a complete picture, and give my personal opinions linked to it, but I try to avoid the hate train as much as possible. Sometimes, it doesn't pan out and the video turns out to be a bit harsh, but at least I try 😅

Man, tough choices this time. I love 3 of the choices, Microsoft, kde, and betterize linux.

The ones that made the cut are Manjaro, and the Microsoft one, with just 1 vote difference on the youtube community side! The Android / Chrome OS one will probably be done next month though!
