I didn't know you were in aviation. I learned to fly before I could drive. (OMG, these automobiles are way too close!) In high school I interned one summer at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Flew sailplanes in college.

Very cool! I never really flew a plane, I did get to use the stick while in flight in the first electric airplane (Pipistrel Velis), just to get a feel of how that thing responded, and it was amazing. It's mostly a training plane, with a short battery life of about 1h30, it takes 1h to fully charge, and it's a small 2 seater for instruction, but almost not hearing the engine is pretty incredible!

Wow! What an experience!

Yeah, it was awesome! Probably not comparable to actually taking off, landing, and really piloting the aircraft, but it was still amazing :) We have 2 of these in our local aeroclub, they're financed by one of the companies my former boss runs, he's trying to get electric aircraft into the hands of more people, and he's basically renting them to various clubs and small airports for their training needs or short touristic flights, with the hope that it catches on and that he can actually move to bigger planes, when they're available.
