Hey everyone!

I hope you're all doing fine, and you're ready for the Weekly Rant (probably going to become the name of that podcast, because that's kinda what it is!), this time Episode 54!

In this one, I talk about:

- 01:23 The Linus Tech Tips challenge, and how I don't really like "React to" videos, but here are some thoughts about that specific challenge, that I might turn into a fully fledged video when their challenge is done.

- 12:15 Windows 11, and how it might have been a bit harsh about it: it's not so terrible when you get to know it a bit better

- 18:01 The mandatory "personal stuff" segment, and how going Freelance didn't really free up any time for more projects, and how not exercising for 3 weeks destroyed the progress of a year.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I had ranting in my mic!

As far as Linus is concerned, I can't help but think he and his team may have planned or staged at least some of their actions or attitudes. Even though Linus is quite obviously very much a Windows user and it's therefore understandable to an extent that he would experience many of the same difficulties faced by someone coming to Linux, I think the popularity and renown of Linus's channels shouldn't be ignored either. In other words, I bet he knew he'd generate more views, press coverage, engagement, and controversy if he messed up (e.g. disabling Pop OS's desktop environment, or trying to use apt with Manjaro) than if things went even a bit more smoothly. That said, it might be hard to know how much was his genuine experience and how much was "clickbait" created with the end result in mind.

It's a possibility, yeah, although I'm not sure that his business model depends all that much in youtube revenue compared to sponsors and merch. In the end, the result is positive: developers are working to fix stuff that has been broken for a while :)
