Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well!

It's this time of the month again, where you can ask me any question you like for me to answer it in the next patroncast  (which I'll publish on the 1st of August), and to vote on the next topics!

Leave me your questions in the comments of this post, or through DMs if you prefer, and cast your vote using the poll below :)

This month, you get to choose between:

Project of the Month:

- Getting Things GNOME: This little project management app has been raised from the ground recently, and has been ported over to the GNOME HIG, with headerbars and a more sensible UI. It's a great program, that has the potential to become the best task / project manager on Linux.

- Kdenlive: the powerful video editor, that most of you probably know about, but maybe you don't know all it can do :)

VLOG:

- Why is Ubuntu getting so much hate? A little opinion piece on this huge distro, that seems to be reviled by a lot of users, but why?

- Linux unpopular opinions: I'm doubling down on the controversy and this video will give a few of my opinions on Linux that are generally considered unpopular or just "wrong".

On top of that, expect the usual Linux news (except there won't be one in the middle of the month since I'll be on holidays), and a focus on elementary OS as well :)

So, get to your mice, click on the topics you want to see, and ask me all your questions, or give me all your ideas in the comments of this post :)

See you guys in the next video!

Nick

Another idea for the POTM : Timeshift. It is a great app, especially if you use it on top of btrfs. And it is always good to remind people that they might benefit from taking snapshots of their system to be back up and running in no time if an update goes south. If you have time to research or prior knowledge of the topic, I would love a comparison of the snapshots capabilities of btrfs (through Timeshift or directly) and zfs. But that might be too technical for the general level of your audience.

Great idea about timeshift! More generally, a comparison between backup solutions on Linux wouldn't be a bad idea 🤔

What is your prefered mail app for Linux and why?
