Hey guys, long time no see !

Sources for GNOME 3.36

Here are the sources and project files for my latest GNOME 3.36 video! This project is a bit special, since I created it using Davinci Resolve, and not Kdenlive.

I you want to see how I made that video (with all of its quirks and flaws), you can download the free version of Resolve and check it out, although some clips might not display properly since it doesn't support MP4 by default, only the paid for version does.

Working with Resolve is great. It's stable, it's fast to render (very, very fast, like 6 minutes to render a 45 minutes playthrough of a video game), and the workflow is really, really nice.

Having the ability to quickly color correct clips, adjust audio and add effects super simply is awesome, even though this particular video had issues.

Namely, I had a super hard time recording the GNOME parts, since I could only try them in Fedora Rawhide, and that unstable beast has a lot of issues...

Then I had to record myself, and since I was on a bit of a deadline, I kinda rushed it, so the audio is not great, and I'm way overexposed as well. Still, at least I learned some more stuff in terms of lighting, color correction, and audio recording (and I really need to sound proof my office a lot more to make sure my audio is alright). Also, recording in cardioid mode instead of bidirectionnal should reduce echo quite a lot...

New Stuff and updates

New stuff is also coming, in the form of a second channel, dedicated to Linux Gaming. All patrons here will also be patrons of the new channel, and get their names in the credits, the video sources etc.

The channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaw_Lz7oifDb-PZCAcZ07kw

Gaming also opens up a few new options, such as allowing you to vote on which game to play next (the first ones being Halo MCC, and Metro Exodus), which I'll expand to the regular channel as well.

All patrons will get a vote at the end of each month, allowing them to choose between a few topics, and I'll work on this topic as a priority.

I hope you guess are faring alright in these weird times we live in, stay safe and if, like me, you're stuck at home, enjoy the content :)
