They turned out ok. They are hard, but will rehydrate when needed.

That might be a subject for a video, food prep, what to process, how to process and store, and how to cook with dehydrated ingredients. Im still learning too. But its good to know how to put together a meal with our preserved food. Are you stocking up on items that will make your beans and rice taste good? Im packingup buckets with beans and rice in mylar, and if there is any space, small mylar bags of salt, garlic powder, onions, pepper, chili powder, etc. Salt, thats a big one, for seasoning, preserving, cleaning. You will neen a lot, for our livestock as well. Altho, they need a mineral supplemental salt. Sorry for my ramblings, just a few ideas regarding preparedness :)
