Had to laugh at the unrealistically ridiculous amount of defenses the Soviets had built up - it just sounds like something made by a bored teenager with a whole weekend to kill and an "unlimited money" cheat code in a tower defense flash game

We aren't using Manstein as a source, nor did Dr. Showalter take his accounts at face value. (we made an entire episode about the clean Wehrmacht theory btw) however, using his accounts as well as the accounts of others (as well as soviet accounts) paints a very accurate picture of what occurred. There is also minute by minute accounting of the meetings they had with Hitler that show the other plans they had that Hitler changed, as well as acknowledging that any plans they would have had, also would have failed at that point and time.
