It was enjoyable hearing nazi generals get killed, I'd imagine a fascist militia would get general heavy. How much actual organizational damage came from that?

(Refering to around 11 minutes in) The scale of how terrible a government can be to its people especially minorities, like the use of it but you can't have America be a 11 on a scale of 1-10 gotta have a realistic base line and a cap. 1= Scandinavian countries 10= Nazi Germany On that scale Americans genocide would be a 7-9, not stripping them of every right but basically doing so and committing a slow cultural genocide at least. I don't have enough information to judge south Africa. If someone does I'd like to hear your scale.

Not to nit pick here but sweden has a really dark history when it comes to the Sami. Also, up until 2013 trans people who wanted to transition were forced to be sterilized. Just two examples. Denmark is awful too. They have fucking race laws aimed at muslims. Scandinavian countries are MUCH shittier than people think.

Joe, I was wondering- do you think that if the right came into conflict with the police in America and a similar incident happened ( say police hosing down a car of armed, shooting CHUDs ), would it bring a similar realization about what a civil war would mean?

I heard nkosi sikelel iafrika at the start of this episode and cried for a long time. It's been 20 years since I last heard it. I spent most of my teenage years protesting apartheid with my family. It was a small contribution, but family friends died fighting the SADF in Angola and another went to prison for seven years for handing out leaflets. Fun apartheid fact: even carparks were segregated. Black people couldn't park their cars in white car parks.

I dont think the two are remotely compatible due to the two situations and systems at play. But that specific situation, no. However, I dont think even that works as a comparison because outside of doomsday preachers and the like the reality of a civil war in America at any point within our lifetimes barring some very insane change, is incredibly low. The same could not be said for South Africa in the 1990s

Afrikaans is not exactly Dutch mind. Yes, it has its roots there, but the Afrikaner language is a kind of weird version with simplified grammar and original words for where Dutch just uses loan words.

I went to Sun City as a really young kid on vacation in South Africa. I had no idea about it’s apartheid history… but six-year-old me did wonder what on earth it was doing there when there was so much abject poverty elsewhere in the country try.
