Love this show. Most definitely not your normal "crime committed, cops investigate, catch the bad guy, and its over" tv show. Love having the perspective from both side of the good guys/bad guys fence. And to answer your question...yes there is a new storyline and new characters in Season 2, but the characters from this season arent going anywhere. More like there is just another main storyline. Also....dont know if you recognized him, but the kid playing Wallace (the kid torn up about Brandons murder) is Michael B Jordan, who is now a pretty major movie star. This was his first main acting role way back when.

Oh man I am loving re-watching The Wire with you! The crime scene apartment search with Bunk and McNulty is an all-time great. Also, now that we're pretty far along into the season, I am able to say how nice it feels to "meet" some of these characters again after not having watched the series for a while, especially Bubbles, Lester Freamon (the detective who is quietly the best investigator there), and Omar Little (who stole the stash/lost Brandon). I am sorry if you already have been made aware of this and I missed it, but the actor who plays Omar Little, Michael K. Williams, passed away of an accidental drug overdose a few years ago. You may not want to Google it because you could come across spoilers for the show, as he became very well known for The Wire, but it is a true loss of talent.
