Aaaaaalright!! This definitely was a journey, but I did have a lot of fun! :D I even get a smile on my face writing this since I never thought I'd like a movie about zombies. The cast is SO good, and I love the humour in this one (although gory many times haha). Hope you enjoy the reaction!

Ha, one of my faves. It starts out in the city I actually live in, Garland Texas. It's a suburb of Dallas.

John W Foster

One of my faves also, I used to live in Carrollton (another suburb of Dallas) I love when Jesse Eisenberg says "You might think that's the zombie apocalypse, but no, it's just Garland"

Tony Williams

He wasn't wrong to clarify that point to be honest.. lol

It's a shame you looked up the cast before watching because Bill Murray's cameo was kept secret when Zombieland was in theaters. So it was a very nice surprise for viewers when he showed up. It's also funny watching Woody Harrelson gush over Bill Murray because they actually made a movie together (Kingpin). Great reaction btw!

This is one of MY favorite zombie flicks and I'm glad you both watched AND enjoyed it. If you haven't seen it yet, tucker and dale is a great spoof of the slasher genre, very funny. I think that I have suggested Lake Placid to you before but I will recommend it at least once more. You mentioned NOT being a gun person, and since I AM a gun person (in true 'Murica form), I would like to say that the firearms are treated mostly OK by the film maker in this one. There are a few moments where muzzle discipline is lacking but I'm happy that sometimes the characters run out of ammunition, and have to reload. I'm not a Mare's Leg kind of person, but I suppose that is what Tallahassee had available to him. I DO take issue with the rifle that the little girl has, which appears to be a .22 LR pump action. The chances of a single round doing enough damage to the control box? Pretty slim.....

SNOW BALLS!? WHERE"S THE FUCKEN TWINKES!? lol Ironically, in November 2012, production on Twinkies was suspended due to bankruptcy proceedings, but came back in July 2013. People were referencing Zombieland when that happened. I never realized the different product placements in this movie. I feel like the Twinkies is not just product placement but also a reference to Ghostbusters since Sony owns Ghostbusters. I didn't realize that at the time. Emma Stone became famous from Superbad and two years later starred in this movie, and then The Amazing Spiderman. She was my crush too. I have lost my respect for Bill Murry after Geena Davis revealed on set abuse Bill put her through during production of a movie Quick Change. Geena, Bill, and these other guys were in a Hotel room and Bill asked her "why not try out this massage device." Geena said no but Bill just kept asking and won't let it go so she tried it out just to shut him up. After she was done using it, Bill Murray just ignore her and didn't even ask how she liked it or anything. As if he was just seeing if he cane make her do something. The other men in the room did nothing. Bill Murray has a history of being unprofessional.

Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine should be in your movie queue

Daryl

Of course there's a Zombieland 2, but might be too soon for the sequel. There's also... Warm Bodies Idle Hands Little Shop of Horrors

Tyler Foster

Yes, if you liked this then I figure you will probably enjoy the sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap (2019). There is also one more movie in the "series" that Shaun of the Dead was part of, the "Cornetto Trilogy," three technically unconnected movies that are a genre plus comedy, and which were co-written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, directed by Wright, and which star Pegg and Nick Frost. Shaun of the Dead was horror + comedy, Hot Fuzz was action + comedy, and the final chapter, The World's End, is sci-fi + comedy.

One of my favorite movies of all time, its just so fun. Such a great reaction, happy to see u enjoyed it that much. As I said before I think these kinds of movies are perfect for u in october because they have some kind of "horror" but are still fine for u, now I have to see how u did with tucker and dale, another one of my faves in this genre.
