Very good, Mary! It would be very interesting to hear your opinion on the Ben Affleck Batman in: "Batman v Superman" (2016) "Justice League" (2021- Zack Snyder cut) But you would have to start with the DC Extended Universe from the beginning with “Man of Steel (2013)”.

Every time I see Jeffrey Wright in a movie, all I can think of now is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky8R9DNpEvw&list=LL&index=15

Holy popcorn, Batman! I've got to find an empty 3 hours on my schedule, stat!

And the Batman v Superman must be the ultimate edition (or whatever it’s called). But yeah, ditto this.

Brian Jones

Colin Farrell did a great job as penguin in this one. It's a strong first entry. It has a few flaws here and there, partially due to the long runtime and no real separation between the Bruce Wayne persona and the Batman persona, but it's only year 2, so hopefully the sequels will improve a bit on the few minor failings of this one. Overall a good start though. As someone else mentioned, I'd recommend checking out the Snyder trilogy as well (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman (the ultimate edition), and Zack Snyder's Justice League). Would love to see what your take on those is. Great reaction as always.

If I hadn't seen the behind the scenes of the transformation into the Penguin, I wouldn't have believed he was played by Colin Farrell. It looks like they are going to make an HBOMax series based on his character, maybe him seizing power in this newly formed vacuum. If you rewatch this, there is a scene earlier on outside of the club where you will see The Riddler at the same window where he took the shot that killed Falcone. I missed it the first time, but spotted him on my 2nd viewing of this movie. This is probably my 2nd favorite Batman film, right after The Dark Knight. I like how they showed him more of the detective, not quite where we are used to him being, but he is getting there.

The look on your face in the "THUMB" nail says it all. This is a more Dark, gritty, detective Noir Batman that the original Batman comics did when they first came out in the 30's. Batman 1989 only covered a tiny part of it, The Dark Knight series a little more, also Batman v Superman, but this one goes old skool into Modern day. It has that feel of a serial killer movies, but it's PG13. In the comics, Batman and Catwoman and even Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle, without their costumes, had a love fling, but Batman was Justice and Selena Kyle was a criminal. I don't think anyone notice, that DA creep that had a crush for Selena, the actor's wife is Maggie Gyllenhaal who played Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight. The woman who plays Selena Kyle is the woman you saw in Mad Max Fury Road. By the way, you should do reaction to the deleted scene. It's only five minutes long. It got me by surprise you reacted to this. wow

Another great reaction to a phenomenal movie. This is maybe the fourth (?) time I've seen it, and I'm more and more impressed every time. It has really grown on me. And I've come to really admire the Michael Giacchino musical score, it is fantastic, and I don't know what other movies he has scored, but this score has put him on my radar. It is amazing how they have reinvented this character on screen so many times. This movie is far far better than any product Marvel has put out this year on the large or small screen.

Brian Jones

Personally I'd disagree with you in regards to the score for this film in particular, and thought it was kind of lackluster for Giacchino, who I'm a huge fan of. But glad you liked it. If you want some absolutely amazing examples of his work, I'd start with the music from LOST (the TV Show). That will give you a clue of where all of his love themes pretty much came from. :) He's done countless Disney/Pixar films, all of which are great, but Coco was probably the most magnificent, and they even animated him into the film in a cameo. Ratatouille and UP (which won the academy award) are both great as well. The JJ Abrams Star Trek films were both scored extremely well, regardless of what some people thought of the movies. The score for the first film, when Kirk's father dies, is absolutely heartbreaking. His score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is pretty remarkable in that he only had a month to score it due to another composer dropping out of the project. His resume is really too long to list, so I'd just suggest IMDB'ing it, but those are some of the notable highlights. My only issue with the score for The Batman, was the two note main theme being so persistent without much variation. I did like the minor reworking of Ava Maria though. Happy listening.

Hi Mary. I love your reactions, so i would like to share my guilty pleasures with you ^^ So first: Get Shorty (1995) and the Sequel: Be Cool (2005), both with John Travolta (Vincent in Pulp Fiction). Then The Adjustment Bureau (2011) with Matt Damon (Linus in Ocean's 11) and Emily Blunt(Edge of Tomorrow: Full Metal Bitch). And: As Good As It Gets (1997) with Jack Nicholson. I know those Movies didn't score super high on imdb, which is why you hardly find any reactions on YT for them. But maybe it's good to be the first and i believe you will have a good time. Cheers :)

Mike LL

You obviously know much more of his work than me, even though I did see every episode of Lost, the music didn't stand out for me. Maybe it is that I have seen this movie more times than you, so I have had that two note theme, BUM BUM BUM BUM, that you speak of drilled into my subconscious, the way he augments it later in the movie is fantastic.

Tyler Foster

They're all pretty popular movies. It is sometimes mystifying what is and isn't reacted to.

Tyler Foster

Someone on YouTube has probably told you by now, but Zoe Kravitz (Selina Kyle/Catwoman) was in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Bryan Tuck

If you're looking for something more recent, you might enjoy "Everything Everywhere All At Once." It just came out this year, and I think it had kind of a slow rollout across Europe, so I'm not sure if it's been released in Belgium yet. But if you do get to see it, it will blow your mind. :)

shaneth138

If you want to see Pattinson at his best acting and also a movie unlike anything you've watched on this channel, I highly recommend Good Time. If you did a Robert Pattinson poll I'd almost guarantee Good Time would win it.

shaneth138

Just finished. Awesome reaction. This movie actually gets better with every watch so thank you for giving me a reason to rewatch it for a 3rd time. Just one thing you might want to know that I haven't seen anybody mention yet but there is actually deleted scene on YouTube that plays more like an end credits scene. It's a scene where Batman is talking to the Joker in his cell. I highly recommend watching this even if you don't post as a reaction. Although that would be fun to watch too! Just search "The Batman deleted scene" and it should show up.
