I have no clue why they chose to make Jaime rape her, they have sex over his corpse in the book bu its Cercei that is the one initiating it and Jaime being reluctanct. It just makes no sense in his characterization as nobody ever mentions him raping her and he never thinks about it or gets any change in his character from it.

Yeah the Jaime stuff is very strange. In my opinion the show stays good until it gets to season 8 but this is the start of some very questionable choices on behalf of the writers. Sansa is probably the bigger crime with how they chose to progress her character.
